I just finished some scripts to improve functionality of my homepage at woh3.sdf.org particularly the “My Go Games” section, none of that is hard-coded, but are rather scripts in php that update page data by themselves whenever I upload a new game file, my favorite thing is the game data box which parses the game files for certain information about the game, it was pretty darn cool and took me a lot of effort, so you should check it out. Well, it’s Saturday, had to go into work today, which wasn’t all that bad since I got to work with my good friend JK, who I haven’t seen a lot of lately. We went to a nice Indian food restaurant I know of for lunch, trying to meet my science fiction writers group there, but I guess I had the date or times wrong. Now I am going to salvage the rest of my weekend, getting ready to watch the new episode of Stargate Universe, and then the new episode of Doctor Who, then will probably work on my website, trying to redo the whole thing in php, we’ll see how it goes. I have decided that I am going to use the free linux video editing software to make several short documentaries about things that interest me, like I tentatively plan for my first episode to be an introduction to the BBC TV show Doctor Who, and why I think it is so great. The idea behind this is to get me producing content again which will ideally facilitate me getting back to writing. I have been kicking around an idea about a futuristic sci-fi story in which a Cyborg warrior is trapped in the mental manipulation programs of his exo-skeleton, which variously make him experience heaven and hell and the battle field, and he struggles to rediscover his humanity against that overpowering mindscape. I also would like to be able to get back to writing my novel “The Snakes of Terra”, but have been too blocked. Perhaps I will dust it off for the upcoming national write your novel month. Time for Stargate…

I've been using Slackware for years, and never seen a release come out so quickly, perhaps this is a new phase in rspeedy releases for slack. It runs powerfully and smooth, with many features pre-configured, and the flashplayer plugin script in the /extra directory of the DVD actually works, unlike in slack 13.0

At long last, I have some time for pleasure reading again. I am currently reading “Mathematicians in Love” by one of my favorite Science fiction Authors, Rudy Rucker.

I just got finished with the CSN 2010 graduation ceremony, it was a great time. Now I am a certified Database Administrator![caption id=”attachment_376” align=”alignleft” width=”700” caption=”I R A Kollige GrduWaite”][/caption]

Corporate Challenge Chess 2010-Division D-“The Team” wins gold. Dave Hewetson, Brandon Kellman, Jason K, and myself took first place, with a flawless record. The final match was very intense and difficult, I was down a knight and a bishop, then I lost the other knight, but in a total upset he fell for my trap, giving up his rook and bishop in back to back moves, which gave me the material lead I needed to turn the game around, I promoted a pawn to Queen, and took control of the final game. I was sweating bullets, didn’t want to be the one who blemished our flawless win record, but in the end I pulled it out. It was awesome.

Wow, finished all my finals, pulled two A’s, graduating monday, Phi Theta Kappa Honors, High Honors. I have a corporate challenge chess tournament tomorrow, expect to do pretty well at that. The next photos on this site should be of me getting a medal for chess, or My graduation photo, I am going to order extra copies of my graduation photo and make sure certain family members who did everything they could to stop me from finishing school get a copy. These certain family members needed me to fail because they need to believe that the system is rigged against them, and no amount of hard work can help you, well, I hope my small victory stings you, and you know who you are.

The end is in sight, and I am going crazy, I don’t know if its just psychological or what but my brain feels like a fried egg, and I can’t bare the thought of looking at another line of computer code for a few weeks, whatever my next self improvement project is going to be, I think I’m going to take a few months of me time before I start it. Maybe I’ll take some time to work on body, and give the brain a little rest, perhaps tai-chi or judo.
