Finally finished moving
It was grueling, I have way too much crap, and it was 110 degrees most the day and a lot of the night. It’s done. Now I just have to unpack. sorry for such a boring post, but that’s what my life is right now.
I am moving
Packing, Lifting, Carrying. is there anything quite so fun as moving? So far the bright spot in my week is that I have setup an artificial intelligence program that plays the game of go on the KGS go server. His name is BAMFBOT. I will have to do a lot of tweaking, maybe I can even change his playing algorythm altogether. But who knows, right now I just get to move boxes. Talk to you all soon.
Moving this week
There is nothing more hectic than moving. I start moving this Thursday and hopefully will be done on Saturday. I am writing. My short story “Cthulhu for Dummies” should be done within a month, and work still moves forward on my novel “The Snakes of Terra”. I am back to Slackware, I am now convinced that Ubuntu is just Windows Vista with a theme change. It was smooth for a while, but then it started getting unstable and crashing just like windows. If you like math, linux, and humor of questionable taste then you need to see the hilarious webcomic I found called XKCD, who would have thought stick figures could have such character.
Lake Mead National Park-Wetlands trail Hike
It was just beautiful out at Lake Mead this morning, nice and cool, fresh air, relaxing pace, people were even friendly. Here are some pics of the hike
I'm Going To Comic-Con
I was hoping to go to Denvention3 in Denver CO this year but they closed the HUGO voting tickets and jacked up their prices to $160/night, so I said F*** YOU Denver, I don’t care if you’re the world’s biggest Sci-Fi Convention or not, you can’t price out the ordinary guy. Anyway, I decided to replace it with another vacation instead, San Diego Comic-Con, it’s the week of my birthday, it’s by the ocean, and I have two friends there I can hang with.
Just an Update---with PICTURES!
This is another one of my crazy co-workers, Emily, she had a pimple…

Mathcounts Rocks
last weekend I was proctoring and helping out at the Las Vegas Mathcounts tournament, a place where kids who are good at math come to have fun. One of the event managers said “This is the coolest and most important thing going on in American schools right now, and you won’t see it on TV, or hear about it on the radio” he was absolutely right.
