A New Julia Set

This is a new version I rendered of the Julia Set. I like how this one looks.

I just love how beautiful these things are.

Z-Power Mandelbrot

Hey guys guess what?? Another Fractal!! I really like this one.

Manually Programmed Fractal

This is my first manually programmed fractal using Python. It is a simple Mandelbrot, it took 4 cpus almost 5 minutes to render.

More Fractals

Here are a few more fractal experiments. The first is called the Man-o’war fractal:

…and the next one is the Lambda Fractal:

and on this one I played around with some of the colors and paramters of the Julia Set.

Hanafuda Decks

My decks arrived. One nice set of original Hanafuda cards and a Hawaiian Style Koi-Koi deck. I have been teaching Joe and so far he really likes it.

Fusing my interests

Now my interests are blending together. I have made the Hanafuda Crane into a Mandelbrot Fractal. I love how beautiful the card is. Here is the fractal:

and here is the original card image:

I found a great online tool to accomplish this here.

Memorize Hanafuda Cards and Yaku with Anki Flashcards

Anki is a wonderful program for making your own flashcards on the computer and quizzing yourself. I have made a set of all the Hanafuda cards to memorize the card flower and months as well as a basic set for memorizing the Yakus.

SDR

I finally managed to get RTL2838-SDR Software Defined Radio system working under windows. Now if I could just find a way to get 1,000 of them to work in parallel I could start my amateur radio astronomy project.
