slackware 13.0 is out! More importantly slackware64 has gone from beta to release! I am downloading iso’s as I write this.

I have been working and trying to deal with family stress, but things are working out well. I thought I was in love a few months back, but then certain people turned out to get really really mean when pressure was put on. I need to be with someone who turns to me instead of away from me when the going gets tough, and they never gave me that chance, which broke my heart. I need to be with someone who doesn’t crumble like a saltine when the screw get turned. School starts in a few days, I wanted to spend the summer on my reading list, I purchased 12 philosophy books to read over summer, but at the last minute a summer course in my degree came open, so I only had a half-summer for reading. I bought a backpacking type pack for long hikes, looking forward to a chance to use it when the heat finally breaks. I just finished reading “The Spoon River Anthology” by Edgar Lee Masters, which was excellent in so many ways I can’t even articulate it well here, it is a very deep, insightful, sad, and yet funny book that I highly recommend for anyone to read.

Having a pretty good weekend so far, I got all moved into my new place, and now I’m learning about all it’s little quirks. I have a nice view of the mountain, which I like a lot better than seeing the city. I went out with some co-workers and played bocce ball, which was great, and my team won. Thomas is still away visiting his family, about 11 days to go till he comes back. I aced my summer web programming class, and signed up for fall semester, only taking two classes, cit 181, which is a class on oracle databases, and cit 152, which is advanced web scripting. I hope it includes php, and is not some lame ass course on javascript, which isn’t even real java. Today has been great! Best 38th birthday ever. First I went to sushi at yama with 5 friends from work. Then my friends wished me happy birthday and the sushi chefs heard it, and so they made me a special sushi plate and prepped up a Saki-Bomb fro us all to drink, and then everyone in the sushi bar joined together to sing happy birthday to me, it was awesome! here is the pic of the sushi bomb before they tipped it… [caption id=”attachment_276” align=”aligncenter” width=”300” caption=”the Saki-Bomb for my birthday”][/caption]

It was 105 today, and summer is just starting. Please rain COME!
